Who we are

My name is Dr. Mickey Cooper. I was born and raised in the Chillicothe area and couldn’t be more proud to call this place my home. In 2016 I graduated from Shawnee State University with a bachelor’s degree in biology. I then moved to Atlanta and attended Life University for chiropractic school where I graduated Magna Cum Laude. I came back to Chillicothe after school and worked as an associate before leaving to become a clinic lead doctor in Columbus. Now I am back in my home town and I couldn’t be more excited to help the people of my community. I have a wife Alex, a cat Genm, and a bunny Punkin, as well as my darling daughter Magnolia who is the namesake of our new office. We are so excited to be back in Chillicothe and we cannot wait to help the people we love get their normal lives back through the miracle of chiropractic care.

My Chiropractic Story

When I was young baseball was life. I spent every day at Mary Lou Patton Park. I was even there on days when I didn’t have a game. My parents were the groundskeepers at the park and I also worked as an announcer and scorekeeper. As I grew older I began to realize that playing ball and running took more of a toll on me that the other kids my age. I would always end the days complaining over just how bad my feet would ache. Finally after years of this we sought help and discovered that I had a birth defect in both of my ankles. All the individual bones of my ankles were fused together. The surgeons told me that they could fix my issue, which was such a relief to hear. I thought there was a possibility I would have to quit baseball for good, and I was only in middle school at this time. I had the surgery and it could not have went worse. Now instead of having aching feet after games, my feet felt like they were broken at all times. I had multiple surgeries to fix the mistakes made in the first one but it didn’t get much better. However I decided that baseball was too important to me to quit.

When I was playing high school ball one of our assistant coaches happened to be a chiropractor, and he offered free care to members of the team. I took him up on his offer. He adjusted my spine and began to adjust my ankles. When he did that it felt like I was able to actually move my ankles for the first time. I was because of him and his adjustments that I was able to play baseball all throughout high school with much less pain that I had ever had before.

I thought I was going to lose the thing I loved most in my life, and because of a chiropractor I didn’t have to. That is why I decided to follow in his foot steps and share this wonderful gift with as many people as I can.

When you lose the life you love, you never forget the reason you got it back.
